History has been made in the WPL (Women’s Premier League). This league, modelled after the IPL, features women cricketers, and a match was played between the Mumbai Indians (w) and the RCB (w) on 26th January 2026 at the Kotambi Stadium in Gujarat. A major record has been set in this match; a significant piece of history has been created. Natalie Sciver-Brunt, the English all-rounder, has made history by scoring the first century of the tournament. Since the tournament began in 2023, no player had scored a century in this event yet.

Natalie Sciver-Brunt is the first player to achieve this feat. Playing for the Mumbai Indians against the RCB, she scored the first century of the tournament. The team is a two-time WPL winner, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur. They won the 2023 and 2025 seasons, but this season has been somewhat disappointing. However, Natalie Sciver-Brunt has created history by scoring a century. It’s the first century of the tournament, and no player had scored a century since the tournament started in 2023. Natalie Sciver-Brunt scored her century in 57 balls with 16 fours and 1 six.

But until today, no player had scored a century, and this is the first century in WPL history, scored by Nat Sciver-Brunt. But before this, several players have been stuck in the 90s and haven’t been able to reach a century in the tournament. Sophie Devine has scored 99 runs. Before her, Alyssa Healy also scored 99 runs. Beth Mooney, also from Australia, scored 96 runs. Even the Indian player Smriti Mandhana has scored 96 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 95, but she couldn’t reach a century.
But this time Natalie Sciver-Brunt , the 33-year-old English player, made this dream come true to her credit as well as for England and also for the Mumbai Indians women’s team.
