The third test match of the Border-Gavaskar series, which was being played in Brisbane, ended in a draw. In the 3rd test match at Gabba Rain played a big role. Australia had scored a huge score of 445 runs while batting in the first innings. Later, India started their first innings batting and collapsed, and by the end of day 3, India was able to score only 48 runs for the loss of 4 wickets on the scoreboard. At that time, India required another 197 runs to avoid the follow-on on the 4th day.

Thanks to the determination of K.L. Rahul’s batting and the fighting nature of Ravindra Jadeja, India was able to avoid the follow-on. The 10th wicket partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep, with 47 runs, was the most remarkable performance towards the end of day four.

On day 5, India went all out at the score of 260 runs. On a rain-interrupted 5th and final day, Australia started their second innings with a big first-innings lead of 185 runs and was looking in a hurry as they wanted to put India in to bat as soon as possible. In that process, Australia lost wickets very fast. They declared their second innings at 89 for the loss of 7 wickets and gave India a target of 275 runs to win the match in the remaining maximum of 54 overs on the rainy final day.

Thereafter, India started their second innings. But with only 2 overs of play and 8 for 0 wickets on the scoreboard, heavy rain came in and started her own game in the center heavily. Then it was not possible to start the game again; thus, after waiting for more than two hours, the umpires decided to announce the game as a draw after consulting with the two captains of both teams.The 3rd test match at Gabba spoiled by rain.

So in a five-match series with 1-1 on board with one draw match in Brisbane, both teams will head for Melbourne, where the 4th Test Match will be played from 26th December, and some exciting cricket will be seen.
