India Triumphs in T20 Series Against South Africa, Securing 3-1 Victory

In the fourth Twenty20 encounter at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, India triumphs in T20 series against South Africa by a commanding 135 runs with centuries from Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson as well as outstanding bowling performances. India clinched the four-match T20 series 3-1 with this win.

Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson showcased the brilliant batting performance to set a massive target of 283/1 for the South African team.

While chasing the formidable target of 284 runs, South Africa could only manage a score of 30/4 by the end of the power play. India, who set the stage by batting first, made a massive total of 283/1 in their 20 overs. In reply, South Africa stumbled early, losing four wickets for a mere 10 runs within the first three overs. Arshdeep Singh gave India an early breakthrough on the third ball of the opening over and then struck twice consecutively in the third over.

In an incredible partnership of 210 runs off 86 balls, Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson both reached their  hundreds and remained unbeaten. India achieved a magnificent score of 283/1 in 20 overs for their efforts. Samson scored an undefeated 109 off 56 balls, while Tilak was still at 120 runs off 47 balls. Tilak hammered ten sixes and nine fours, while Samson struck nine sixes and six fours.

With their barrage of boundary hits, the pair delighted the audience and once again got India very near the 300-run milestone. Thanks to the outstanding hitting of Samson and Tilak, India quickly reached 160 runs in 12 overs and reached the 200-run milestone by the 14th over. After the powerplay, Samson continued his attack, helping India reach 100 runs in nine over. Tilak quickly joined him in reaching the milestone after he reached his fifty in twenty eight balls.

In just 35 deliveries, Samson and Abhishek Sharma set a blistering 73-run opening partnership. Abhishek was removed by Lutho Sipamla for 36 runs off 18 balls at the penultimate ball of the powerplay. Before falling to a catch, Abhishek smashed a massive six to push the partnership beyond 50. The innings had a strong start thanks to India’s opening partnership.

Interestingly, Samson made a strong recovery after being out for ducks in his previous two games. Surya Kumar Yadav, the Indian skipper, after winning the toss, chose to bat first. South Africa and India both started the game with the same lineup as the previous one.
