After winning the toss new Zealand decided to bat first, Both the opener Captain Latham and Devon Conway  made a slow  but steady start and batted very carefully in the beginning.

Both of India’s fast bowlers fail to take wickets in the initial overs, but then captain Rohit Sharma gives Ashwini his first over, and he gave New Zealand the first blow by dismissing captain Latham at the score of 15 runs in his first over. After that, Will Young came to the crease to play alongside Tom Latham, and there was a great partnership between these two batsmen. At first, these two batsmen took New Zealand score beyond 50 runs, after which these two batsmen gradually moved the score at a faster rate. But just before lunch, Will Young was dismissed by Ashwini for 18, giving New Zealand the 2nd blow for 76 runs on the scoreboard.

Then Rachin Ravindra came to the center to give company to Conway. Conway had scored his half-century on one side, and then these two batsmen took New Zealand’s score to more than 100 runs. Both the batsmen were batting very well there in the center. After lunch, both batsmen try to score more quickly, but then Ashwini dismisses Latham in the hands of Rishabh Pant on 76, and New Zealand gets the third blow on 138 runs. Then Daryl Mitchell came to partner Rachin Ravindra, and there was a great partnership between these two batsmen. Both batsmen take the New Zealand team score close to 200 runs. Ravindra completes his half century. But just before the tea break, Washington Sundar bowled Ravindra for 65 runs, and New Zealand got the fourth blow on the score of 197.

Then Tom Blundell came to play alongside Daryl Mitchell, but Washington Sundar also dismissed Tom Blundell at the individual score of 3 runs, and then the tee breaks were taken. After coming from the tea break, Daryl Mitchell lost his wicket to Sundar for 18 off 54 balls, and the New Zealand team gets the sixth blow at the score of 204 runs. Then there was a partnership between Glenn Phillips and Santner. In the end, Santner tries to score quickly, but he also falls prey to Sundar by scoring 33 runs for a total score of 259 runs. For India, Washington Sundar took 7 wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets.

After this, India started his first inning as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma came to the center to start the inning, but the start of the Indian team was worse as Rohit Sharma made only 1 run off 9 balls and fell victim to Tim Southee, and the Indian team got the first blow on the score of one run.

It was again Shubman Gill to deal with the question, and these two batsmen batted slowly and pushed the score a little bit. By the end of the first day’s play, India had scored 16 runs by losing 1 important wicket of skipper Rohit Sharma. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
